Jamie Carragher has written in The Telegraph that he is confident that William Saliba will be at Arsenal next season.

Saliba is on loan at Nice at the moment, having joined the Ligue 1 club from Arsenal in the January transfer window.

The 20-year-old defender struggled to get into manager Mikel Arteta’s first team in the first half of the season.

Former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit Carragher believes that the France Under-20 international will be part of the team at the start of next season.

Carragher wrote in The Telegraph: “I would be surprised if highly-rated teenage defender William Saliba, who was signed amid much fanfare from Saint-Étienne, does not get his chance at the start of next season.”

Getting a chance

Saliba is a very highly rated young defender who has a bright future ahead of him.

Things have not worked out for him at Arsenal yet, but it must be noted that he is very young and only a had a few months to work with Arteta.

Arsenal fans should be optimistic about Saliba becoming a success at the club in the long term.

According to WhoScored, Saliba has made 13 appearances in Ligue 1 for Nice and has played once in the Coupe de France for Nice so far this season.
