Tim Vickery told Sky Sports News (19/05/21 at 4:45 pm) that he does ‘wonder’ whether reported Leeds target, Sergio Aguero, will end up playing alongside his childhood friend Lionel Messi.
In nine days time, Aguero will line up for the final time for Manchester City in the Champions League final and he will be hoping to end his legendry career at the Etihad by lifting the trophy for the first time.
But once that curtain shuts, Aguero will become a free agent, with EuroSport claiming that there is a ‘real possibility’ he could end up at Leeds.
However, South American Football expert, Vickery, thinks Barcelona might well be his next stop and playing alongside another great in Messi for the first time in his domestic career.
“I doubt we will learn much about this until after the Champions League final has been played,” said Vickery.
“One thing that fascinates me is that Aguero and Lionel Messi have been friends for years and years and years.
“Back in 2005, the World U20 Cup in Holland, you get these two little 17-year-olds in the Argentina squad and they are put in the same room. And they forged a really, really firm friendship.
“So, I wonder how much of that friendship will play out as a factor as to where Aguero moves next.
“I’d imagine Aguero will still feel he has unfinished business at top-class European football. But I wonder if one of the things that could happen is he lines up alongside Lionel Messi.”

With Marcelo Bielsa at the helm, there is every chance Leeds could lure a player of Aguero stature and greatness to their club.
He is highly-regarded across the world and snapping up his fellow countryman, even for one season, would transform Leeds as a club.
Leeds will finish in the top ten this season and come the next campaign, they will be aiming for Europe.
And there’s no better way to increase your chances of booking that European tour by signing one of the greatest finishers the English game has ever seen.
