Bruno Guimaraes has wished Lucas Paqueta ‘the best’ after he sealed a £51 million transfer from Lyon to West Ham United on Monday night, as the Newcastle United star posted on Instagram.
Both West Ham and Newcastle have spent well over £100 million each this summer, and whilst the latter added Guimaraes to their squad in January, his fellow countryman has now joined him in the bright lights of the Premier League.
It’s a club-record transfer for the Hammers (Sky Sports) and the 24-year-old has also penned a five-year deal after becoming their eighth signing of the summer.

Newcastle have seen the impact Guimaraes has made during the small amount of time he has been at the club because he is already a fan favourite.
The energy, quality passing range and ability to lift the crowd with a special moment has made Guimaraes a top, top midfielder and he is only growing as a player.
When Guimaraes’ fellow countryman expressed his delight at securing a move to England and the London Stadium, the Magpies ace posted the following message in the comments section.
“I love you brother,” said Guimaraes. “We can be sure that we do our best at the club.
“I wish the best for you. Thank you for everything.”
WEST HAM DOING THE TALKING IN THE MARKET
During the past few seasons, West Ham have made huge progression under David Moyes from their relegation fight to now competing in Europe.
In previous years, West Ham owners have had a mixed relationship with those running the club, but things might be about to change.
They are nearing a spend of £200 million and there’s no reason why they shouldn’t push forward again this season.
Their opening three defeats, added with zero goals, haven’t helped matters, but that nervy, scrappy, yet much-needed 1-0 win at Aston Villa on Sunday might just now help change the tide.
