Liverpool clearly missed out on a cracking player in the form of Aurelien Tchouameni.

The Reds were interested in signing the France international during the summer transfer window.

However, Real Madrid were also keen on and wound up beating Liverpool to securing an £89 million deal for the former Monaco starlet.

Given the problems that Jurgen Klopp has had this season regarding midfielders, he’s been a big miss for the German manager.

And former Liverpool left-back Jose Enrique has admitted on Twitter that he wanted Real to break the bank on Kylian Mbappe so that they’d be unable to afford the 22-year-old:

The Anfield outfit won’t particularly care if Tchouameni blossoms into the world’s finest midfielder, providing that Klopp is able to bring Jude Bellingham to Merseyside.

According to Sky journalist Dharmesh Sheth, Liverpool are leading the race to sign the Borussia Dortmund star who, at 19, is destined to become a frighteningly-good midfield player.

Even at the moment you’re talking about one of the world’s most exciting players and suffice to say that Klopp could take him to the next level entirely.

Players invariably reach their highest-possible potential under the Liverpool manager and the prospect of Bellingham playing under the German is genuinely exciting.

Twenty-two-year-old Tchouameni is clearly a brilliant talent, but by the time Bellingham is his age then the latter could and probably will be superior.
