Well, if it wasn’t obvious before, Loris Karius has absolutely no Liverpool future.

The German goalkeeper failed to secure a transfer away from Liverpool last summer, giving him the slightest sliver of an opportunity to reignite his career at Anfield.

However, having failed to make the squad for a senior outing all season, the writing has been on the wall – and even moreso now.

The Reds’ manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Karius is available for transfer this month and if that fails, he’ll leave for free this summer.

Klopp hammered home the point by listing all of Liverpool’s goalkeepers available for selection, omitting Karius’s name.

He told Liverpool’s official website: “Loris, I wish him only the best and he will find a club whenever – now or in the summer. And then from there he will go on, I’m very sure.

“Obviously it was in the club’s interest as well that Loris finds a new club, stuff like this.

“As long as we don’t have a massive situation here, our No.1 is Ali, our No.2 is Caoimh, No.3 is Adrian, No.4 is Marcelo.”

Tragic

It has been a tragic story for Karius at Liverpool.

The 28-year-old hasn’t clocked a competitive appearance for the English giants since his performance in the Champions League final back in 2018.

In Ukraine, Karius made two horrendous mistakes as Real Madrid defeated Klopp’s outfit 3-1.

Since then, he has had a couple of failed loan spells at Union Berlin and Besiktas but has never really looked to be the same goalkeeper as before those two mistakes.

Confidence is a massive thing in football for a goalkeeper and unfortunately for Karius – and Liverpool – he left his in Kiev.
