Scott McTominay has refused to pick between Liverpool star Andy Robertson and Manchester United ace Luke Shaw when asked to do so on ESPN.

During an interview on ESPN, United central midfielder McTominay was asked who the better left-back is – Liverpool’s Robertson or Shaw.

McTominay plays with Shaw for the Red Devils, and he is a Scotland international teammate of 27-year-old Robertson.

The 24-year-old has praised both the players, and he has refused to pick one over the other.

McTominay said on ESPN when asked to pick between Shaw and Robertson: “I can’t really answer that. Both of them would be extremely disappointed in me if I said one or the other.

“I play club football with Luke Shaw, so I see him more than I see Robbo, and Robbo plays for Liverpool. Luke Shaw is my boy, he is playing extremely well.

“I am extremely pleased for both of them because they are two top guys, really good professionals as well. I will stay away from that one.”

Luke Shaw or Andy Robertson?

Shaw, 25, is younger than Robertson and has not always had the best of times at United, especially when Jose Mourinho was in charge of the Red Devils.

However, the England international is having a very good season at the moment and is playing brilliantly.

Robertson, like the rest of his Liverpool teammates, has not been at his best this season, and there have even been suggestions that he looks tired.

However, the Scotland international left-back has been superb over the years and has won the Premier League and the Champions League with Liverpool.
