One Arsenal player has provided an update on his future as he prepares to leave the club upon the expiry of his contract this summer.
Ever since Mikel Arteta was handed the Arsenal job back in 2019, following a dismal spell under Unai Emery, the Spaniard has been keen on rebuilding the North London club with a raft of young, talented players.
Whether it’s Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli or Martin Odegaard, Arsenal look set for the next five years as they hope to win their first Premier League trophy since 2004.
As these new players have come through, some, more experienced, players, who joined the Gunners under Emery, suffered as a result.

Arsenal player set to leave
Cedric Soares moved to Arsenal from Southampton back in 2019 and the Portuguese defender was seen as a first team player. However, with the addition of Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu, later on down the line, the 32-year-old has fallen further and further down the pecking order.
Since his move to the Gunners five years ago, the right-back has only made 48 Premier League appearances across five seasons, so there is little surprise to see the experienced defender depart the Emirates Stadium.
“I’ll look into it,” the defender said, as per O Jogo. “I will understand where the best solution will be for me to continue my journey.
“Right now, I’m very focused on my career, I want to keep playing for a few more good years. I feel pretty good, I’m 32 years old. So my goal now is to find the right team, where I continue to take the right steps and that can be competitive.”
Cedric’s future unclear
Going into next season, the Portuguese defender is currently without a club at this moment in time but there have been tentative links to Turkish giants Galatasaray.
His move to Arsenal has not been a successful one with the right-back featuring the most during the 2021-22 season, where he made just 21 Premier League appearances for the Gunners.
Arsenal are moving on without the Portuguese defender and the same could be said about the future of Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny, who announced he would leave the club earlier this month.
