Liverpool’s Kamil Grabara has made a couple of big statements in an interview with Danish television.

The 22-year-old left Liverpool to join Danish side AGF on a season-long loan.

And it’s been a decent stint as the towering goalkeeper – who stands at 6’5 – has started 27 games, with AGF sitting fourth in the Superliga table.

The young Pole is yet to make his competitive debut for Liverpool but it seems like the player himself is confident that he can make it at Anfield.

In fact, Grabara has claimed he can be the world’s best goalkeeper.

He told Canal 9 in Denmark: “[My ambition is] just to win the Champions League and become the best goalkeeper in the world. There is always one who is the best and I think I have the abilities to achieve it so I believe in myself.”

A lot of footballers these days find themselves accused of allowing the promise of huge financial gain to dictate their career choices.

But Grabara has admitted that he will ‘go for the money’ after revealing that his secondary ambition in football is to make as much as possible.

He added: “[If I cannot achieve my dream] then I will go for the money. I want to earn as much as possible and from there I want to retire.”

Well, at least the player is honest, but is he realistic? Who knows.

But there may be room for somebody to stake a claim at Liverpool during the summer because, as things stand, Adrian looks set to leave on a Bosman.

That leaves Alisson and Caoimhin Kelleher – who’s the same age as Grabara – as Jurgen Klopp’s only two senior goalkeepers so maybe, just maybe, Grabara can impress the German during the summer.
