Luis Suarez and Dejan Lovren have paid their own tributes as Liverpool said goodbye to their iconic training ground, Melwood.
Former Reds hitman Suarez wrote on his Instagram story that he will ‘always remember’ the ‘unique and unforgettable memories’ he built at the training ground.
This is what he wrote in full: “Unique and unforgettable memories with amazing people at Melwood training ground which I will always remember. @liverpoolfc #ynwa.”
Whilst Lovren, who left Liverpool in the summer, shared that there was always ‘incredible energy’ seeping through ‘every corner’ of that building.
Melwood is now history for Liverpool and it’s something that fans, players and coaches alike can look back on with great fondness.
There have been some great players who have walked through those Melwood doors and someone like Suarez would rightfully put his name high up on that list.
Whilst he didn’t win a Premier League title with the Merseyside giants, he did leave lasting memories and enjoyable moments to look back on for Liverpool supporters.

He may have left Anfield under a cloud but he is still well-respected by those in Red and he did go onto achieve great things at Barcelona, where he formed a quite formidable front three with Neymar and a certain Lionel Messi.
But Suarez would have been pretty pleased to see Lovren and Co. lift the Premier League title and the Champions League in recent seasons, as they will be hoping to build new memories at their new training complex.
