Gary Neville has claimed that Aston Villa were ‘excellent’ against Everton on Saturday, as he told his followers on Instagram Live.
Dean Smith’s side recorded a 3-0 win over an Everton team that were unbeaten going into that weekend fixture.
But an injury-hit Everton side just couldn’t handle the attacking threat from Villa, who blitzed them off the pitch during the second half.
Leon Bailey came off the bench to assist, score, get booked and then go off injured – although it seems as though his substitution as a sub was just a precaution.
Nonetheless, this is what Neville had to say about Villa’s win over the weekend and their start to the campaign.
“Villa very good (on Saturday night),” said Neville. “I watched Villa vs Everton and I thought they were excellent against a decent Everton side.
“And they have had a good start to the season.”

It’s a return to Stamford Bridge for Villa on Wednesday, this time in the League Cup, just over a week after their 3-0 defeat against Chelsea in the Premier League.
During that game, Villa created numerous chances, but they weren’t able to be clinical enough in front of goal.
They were punished by Romelu Lukaku, but given that this is a League Cup tie, Villa may not have to face the Belgian this time around.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if Thomas Tuchel makes a number of changes, and if Villa can create those same number of chances again, then they will be backing themselves to punish their opponents this time around.
