Micah Richards has warned Chris Sutton that Leeds United away for Premier League title-chasing, Manchester City, is going to be ‘tough’, as he told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.

The former right-back thought Sutton was ‘disrespecting Leeds’ and Elland Road with his comments about the Yorkshire club hosting Man City on April 30th.

Pep Guardiola’s side are leading Liverpool by one point in the title race, after their 2-2 draw at the weekend.

On paper, the only top-half side Man City are due to play from their remaining seven matches are West Ham United.

As a result, many think the current champions should see off Liverpool’s charge, win their remaining matches and win the title again.

Nonetheless, when Sutton was discussing Man City’s final run-in, including their trip to Leeds, he had this conversation with Richards.

“Leeds away, I mean Leeds away,” said Sutton. “Can we judge Leeds?”

Richards interrupted: “What’s wrong with Leeds?” to which Sutton added: “No, I think it’s a tricky fixture. I really think it’s a tricky fixture.”

Richards then continued: “I thought you were disrespecting Leeds. Leeds away is tough. It’s tough!”

Sutton then made it clear: “I wasn’t disrespecting Leeds.”

MR: “Elland Road when it’s rocking. Remember the days in League One. There were still 30 odd thousand there. Don’t disrespect Elland Road, please don’t do that.

CS: “I didn’t. I made it clear that I didn’t – Are Leeds out of it? (relegation battle).”

Whilst it may have been under a different coach, Leeds did hold Man City to a draw last season, as well as beating them at the Etihad.

But, they got thumped by them during the reverse fixture this term, although, from an injury perspective, the club was all over the place.

By the time Man City come to town later on this month, Liam Cooper would have had more minutes under his belt, alongside Kalvin Phillips, so all of that could prove to be a tricky encounter for the current holders.
