Speaking on the Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Alasdair Gold has shared what he’s heard about Harry Kane after his trip to watch The Masters at Augusta last week.

Despite their being no prolonged international break, Kane jetted off to the US last week after Spurs hammered Aston Villa to take in the final round of the Masters.

Kane made the long trip across the Atlantic to watch Golf’s biggest competition, and after Spurs’ loss to Brighton at the weekend, that’s, understandably, become a bit of a talking point.

As you can imagine, a trip to the US could leave you fatigued and not in a fit state to play a Premier League match at the highest level, and according to Gold, Kane was a bit bleary-eyed when he returned to training on Tuesday.

What’s been said?

Gold spoke about Kane’s trip.

“All it was was that they had to be back in training on the Tuesday, yes he went away, yes he went to a different continent in a different timezone, but he was barely there for 48 hours, his bodyclock probably didn’t even adjust and then he was back. Yes, I was told he was a bit bleary-eyed on the Tuesday when he got back, but he’s had four full nights sleep and training, so he had loads of time,” Gold said.

Overblown

We can’t help but feel as though a mountain has been made out of a molehill here.

Yes, Kane jetted over to America in the week when he probably should have been resting, but his experience of going to the Masters won’t have been too straining.

We are speculating here, but with Kane earning so much money, he probably flew first-class over to the States and stayed in a five-star hotel. He probably had a better night’s sleep than he usually has if he stayed in such luxury – which, considering his mammoth wages, isn’t unlikely.

Kane had every right to go to Augusta, and if Antonio Conte doesn’t care, neither should the fanbase.
