Clinton Morrison has admitted that he expected someone like Tottenham Hotspur to sign James Ward-Prowse this summer.
Both Tottenham and West Ham United knocked on the door for relegated clubs in the summer and nabbed their talents.
Spurs brought in James Maddison from Leicester City, whilst West Ham added James Ward-Prowse to their ranks from Southampton, with Morrison adding that he is a player who has ‘everything’ to his game, as he told Sky Sports News.
Both players have made outstanding starts, with many debating which one has been the signing of the summer so far.
Not only that, whilst some midfield players go for crazy transfer fees, those two combined cost less than what Arsenal paid for Declan Rice.
It just proves how much of a good deal they got, but Morrison admitted that James Ward-Prowse would head elsewhere than the London Stadium.

James Ward-Prowse’s West Ham transfer
“You can talk about his free-kicks and set-pieces, which is brilliant because it can get you like 10-15 goals a season, but he has got more than that,” said Morrison.
“You saw that he is running beyond Michail Antonio. He can pass the ball. He can do everything a midfielder can do.
“I was surprised West Ham got him for such a cheap price because I thought there would be a lot of other teams, like Chelsea or Tottenham – but he has gone to West Ham and he has started the season ever so well.”

Ward-Prowse’s England snub
Whilst Maddison’s form, since leaving Leicester, has seen him get picked by Gareth Southgate again, and rightly so.
Someone like Ward-Prowse has, once again, been snubbed to the surprise of many.
The player himself would probably accept if there was serious quality ahead of him. But that isn’t the case because someone like Kalvin Phillips can hardly get a game for Man City, yet he still gets picked.
