Robbie Keane has shared that Daniel Levy told him that Tottenham boss, Antonio Conte, is ‘one of the best’ he has worked with, as he told ITV Sport.
The former striker added that Levy said that Conte is ‘very emotional’, but ‘so respected’ by those inside Spurs.
At the second time of asking, and ten Premier League games into the season, Spurs got their man when they replaced Nuno Espirito Santo with Conte.
Given the situation those in north London were in, they probably couldn’t believe their luck that they were able to lure such a trophy-laden coach towards their direction.
But they have done so and they now have the chance to end their trophy drought and really surge forward in the Premier League.
Whilst speaking to Levy in an off-air conversation, Keane shared what the Spurs chairman said about the man in Tottenham’s dugout.
“You see when you have big characters like that (on selling Alli), the manager doesn’t care,” said Keane. “It’s his way and his own way.
“If people don’t respect that, then he will get rid of them. He can do that because of the character that he is. Also because he is respected in the game and respected by all the players in what he has won in the game.
“So, he’s not going to take fools lightly. He tells the players like it is. If you don’t like it, then you can go. I think, for a big club like this, Tottenham, they need someone like this. He is the biggest character in the training ground.
“I was speaking to Daniel Levy just before we came on air and he said that ‘he is one of the best that he has worked with’. He said that he is ‘very passionate. Very emotional’. But he said, ‘as a person, he’s so respected from the staff and inside the club’.”

Other than Chelsea, not many teams have caused Spurs problems under the stewardship of Conte.
Their crazy comeback win against Leicester in the Premier League was just a prime example of what the Italian can muster out of his teams.
Previously, Tottenham teams would be the ones on the end of such a comeback and defeat.
But, this time around, it was them inflicting the damage and a lot of it is down to Conte changing the mindset at the club.
