Speaking on his Podcast, Gary Neville has been discussing Heung-Min Son and his reaction to being substituted against Arsenal.
The South Korean was taken off late in the game against the Gunners as Antonio Conte tried to protect his star man. However, with the Golden Boot in sight, Son understandably wasn’t too pleased about being taken off.
Neville noticed that Son wasn’t best pleased, and he shared what he thought Son was saying to Conte as he attempted to read his lips on the bench.
What’s been said?
Neville spoke about Son’s reaction to being subbed.
“Son a special word, he was gutted when he came off, he told us that he didn’t care about the Golden Boot, but he blew that out of the water with the fact he went on a rant at his manager, it was in a nice way, but it was a rant. I was reading his lips at one point and he was saying ‘why didn’t you take Harry off, not me’, he was absolutely fuming, but it is a compliment to be taken off here because he’s got that energy, imagine if he does something in the last 10 minutes or one of the Arsenal players takes him out,” Neville said.

Winners’ mentality
Son looked to be annoyed at being taken off, but, to be honest, Conte is probably happy to see him have that kind of reaction.
This is a striker who is desperate to score goals and overtake Mohamed Salah at the top of the Premier League scoring pile, and that’s exactly the type of mentality Spurs will want him to have heading into the final two games of the Premier League season.
To put it bluntly, if Son is scoring goals, Spurs have a better chance of making the top four, and with that Golden Boot still in sight, the attacker will be hungrier than ever.
