Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has revealed on the Lions’ Den, on England’s official Youtube channel that Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane caught his eye immediately in Three Lions training.
Phillips was asked which player impressed him the most when he was called up to the England squad.
And it was Tottenham’s Kane’s name who came back as the man who caught his eye.
“I think the first day I came we did possession and it was seven v seven with a floater and Harry Kane was a floater, but it was one touch,” Phillips said.
“There were balls getting zung in at him at knee height and he was just popping it off with one touch – left foot, right foot, chest, head.
“I was just stood in the middle, and I was just in awe of what I was seeing.”

Phillips’ words continue to highlight the level of respect which Kane commands from his teammates.
The Tottenham man may not have been at his best in England’s opener, but there is little question that he merits his place.
Kane is arguably the very best striker in world football and he goes into the Euro’s on the back of a wonderful season.
Tottenham may have disappointed, but Kane still claimed the Golden Boot award and ended the campaign top of the division’s assist charts.
England’s next game comes on Friday evening, when they take on Scotland – where Kane and Phillips will surely both feature once again.
