Well, there’s no denying that Tottenham Hotspur have had a number of difficult results under Antonio Conte. But there’s also no doubt that Spurs are heading in the right direction under Antonio Conte, particularly in light of Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Liverpool.
The Italian manager replaced Nuno Espirito Santo earlier in the campaign and the no-nonsense figure has transformed Tottenham into a well-drilled, disciplined outfit.
They have done the double under Manchester City and even Liverpool – who are going for a quadruple – haven’t won either of their Premier League games against the Lilywhites this season.
Conte masterminded a brilliant point away to the Reds last night, with Son Heung-min giving the visitors a second-half lead – and really, they were unfortunate not to win the game in the end.
And former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara has spotted a perfect example of the team’s improvement under Conte.
Doing media work, O’Hara claims he was in the tunnel at Anfield last night and revealed on Twitter that the Lilywhites players looked disappointed to only have taken a point away to Liverpool.
Real deal
Tottenham are a long way off where Conte will ultimately want them to be.
But the fact that Klopp and Guardiola haven’t been able to beat the former Chelsea boss this season is testament to his tactical nous.
And with the right additions this summer and beyond, Tottenham are only going to get progressively much better under Conte.
This is a world-class manager and O’Hara is right; the Spurs lads’ reaction to the point proves as much.
