Trevor Sinclair labelled reported Leeds United and Crystal Palace, target, Conor Gallagher as an ‘excellent’ player, as he told talkSPORT.

The Chelsea midfielder, who was on loan at relegated West Brom last season, is set to make another move during this summer window.

And it seems as though the energetic midfielder has opted to stay in London and join Palace instead of Leeds.

Former West Ham winger, Sinclair, shared that he was ‘impressed’ with the Chelsea man last season, despite being part of a relegated team, as Leeds are set to miss out on his talents.

“He was excellent (at West Brom),” said Sinclair. “He showed great maturity last year, in a struggling West Brom side.

“But good performances. A lot of self-belief, you can see that he works hard and has good mobility.

“I was impressed with him. He was excellent.”

From Leeds’ perspective, there is plenty of fish left in the sea and they aren’t missing out on a major signing.

Junior Firpo has perhaps been their standout purchase so far and it’s going to be interesting to see who Marcelo Bielsa lures to Elland Road.

One thing Gallagher has done during his career is that he has continued to progress, improve his build-up play and quality on the ball.

But he still needs to be more ruthless in the final third, and as Jack Harrison proved under the stewardship of Bielsa, he can transform your game.

So, from that aspect, whilst Gallagher doesn’t know how he will fare under newbie Patrick Vieira, at least it could be argued that he was more certain of positive results and performances under the highly-regarded, Bielsa.
