Liverpool fans lauded Declan Rice’s performance during West Ham’s 3-2 win at the London Stadium on Sunday.
The England midfielder impressed against a strong Liverpool side that started players like Jordan Henderson and Fabinho in midfield.
Fabinho is probably one of the best defensive-minded midfielders in world football and for Rice to stand out is pretty impressive.
But it shouldn’t be a surprise because he has been on a roll for a very long time now, dominating in Europe, for England and on the Premier League stage.
Even though Liverpool fans witnessed their side drop valuable points, they admitted that the performance by Rice deserved respect.
There were even some calls for him to be a possible long-term replacement for Henderson.
But given the road David Moyes is taking the Hammers down, the only place Rice and his teammates are heading is straight for the Champions League.
There’s no doubt that West Ham are in a Premier League title race and someone like Rice is playing a huge part in their recent rise.
In his second outing in East London, Moyes is doing an incredible job and one that has to be applauded.
He didn’t win the Premier League’s Manager of the Season last time out, but he has probably been the manager of 2021.
The improvement of certain individuals has been one of his success stories and Rice has been at the heart of it.
