Connor Roberts has said to BBC Sport that he was asking Joe Rodon about links with Tottenham Hotspur on deadline day.
Roberts, who plays with Rodon at club level for Swansea and international level for Wales, was with the central defender when Tottenham’s interest in him became apparently.
And Roberts says that Rodon was not distracted by the rumours when they came to light.
“Ever since he came into the Swansea and Wales set-up, he has been touted about,” Roberts said about the £18 million defender (Wales Online).
“I don’t want him to go anywhere.
“I was with him on deadline day [Monday] and chilling with him. I was asking what the crack is.
“At the moment he was just thinking about the next game we are playing England for Wales on Thursday and that is all that is in his head.”
Tottenham still have some work to do if they are to bring Rodon in before the domestic transfer window closes.

Spurs and Swansea City are yet to agree a price for the central defender, but he could be the final piece of Jose Mourinho’s jigsaw at Tottenham.
Spurs have had a very productive transfer window, but there is a feeling that Mourinho would like one more defender added to his squad to complete his backline.
Spurs let go of Jan Vertonghen at the end of last season, and they are still yet to replace the Belgian.
Rodon would be making a big step up if he was to join Spurs, but he looks like one of the outstanding players in the Championship, and there is a widespread confidence that he would have the ability to make the grade.
