Japhet Tanganga has told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport that Gareth Bale is ‘so relaxed’ in Tottenham training.

The Spurs centre-back also shared that when he first met the Tottenham speedster he was ‘a bit nervous’.

Tanganga would have been coming through as a young kid when Bale was ripping it up the first time in a Spurs shirt.

So, it must have been pretty special for him to share the same pitch as the four-time Champions League winner.

Nonetheless, Tanganga made it clear that everyone knew Bale would hit form eventually, as he shared what he is like in training.

“I always knew that quality of player, it doesn’t suddenly go away randomly.,” said Tanganga.

“He still has it in him. It was just a matter of time – We all knew this was coming.

“The first time I met him I was a bit nervous because I was like ‘it’s Gareth Bale you know’. This is someone who I used to watch when I was younger. He’s a big player. I said ‘Hi, I am Japh’. I kind of felt weird for letting him know my name.

“In training, he’s a funny guy, he’s so relaxed, so calm and so cool to chill with. He’s a really good guy.”

Well, after months and months of struggle, Bale is now starting to showcase why he was brought back to Spurs.

Whilst Tottenham have taken some hits this season, the damage is still repairable and he may well end up guiding the North London outfit to a top-four finish and a trophy.

A lot is on the line this week with Europa League action and a certain North London derby.
