Clinton Morrison has predicted Liverpool are going to sign Jude Bellingham.
But not until next summer.
Bellingham enhanced his reputation with an excellent performance for England in a friendly win over Ivory Coast at Wembley in midweek.
The 18-year-old has been on Liverpool’s radar for a while.
And in December, The Mirror reported that the Reds were plotting a summer move for the Borussia Dortmund midfielder.
Although Morrison is confident that he will indeed wind up at Anfield, the former Premier League hitman does not believe it’ll happen until the summer of 2023.
He told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport on Wednesday: “He’ll probably stay at Dortmund for another year, but I think a team like a Liverpool will come and get him sooner rather than later. I want to see him in the Premier League, because he’s going to be a superstar.”
Is Morrison right?
Well who knows if he’s right about Bellingham going to Liverpool.
But he is right about the teenage sensation staying put this summer.
Dortmund are already poised to leave Erling Haaland, arguably the biggest striker in world football right now.
And supporters of the Bundesliga outfit would be utterly furious if their club sold both Haaland and Bellingham.
We’re talking about two of the most promising players on the continent and Dortmund offloading both wouldn’t be pretty.
But with the seeds already sewn for Bellingham to potentially join Liverpool, next summer definitely makes more sense than this one.
