Fabrizio Romano has provided a fresh piece of information on Tottenham Hotspur’s reported pursuit of goalkeeper Piereluigi Gollini.
Spurs look set to sign the Italian goalkeeper on a season-long loan from Atalanta.
According to Calciomercato, Tottenham have the option to make it a permanent deal for a fee in the region of £13 million.
But Romano has revealed that the North Londoners will be obligated to sign the former Aston Villa stopper if he makes 20 senior appearances for the club next term.
He told his Here We Go podcast: “It could be an obligation to buy clause. I want to give you an update. What I’m told is that if Gollini reaches 20 matches, the loan will become an obligation. It could be 20 matches. I repeat, it is not signed.”
What next for Joe Hart?
As things stand, Joe Hart is Tottenham’s second-choice goalkeeper, behind Hugo Lloris.
But you have to assume that Nuno Espirito Santo is planning to demote the former England international to third choice if Gollini is signed.
Remember, Hart was a Jose Mourinho signing, not a Nuno one, and therefore it seems like the former Manchester City and Torino stopper may be swimming against the current here a little.
