Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka won’t feature for his side this weekend, when they take on Wolves.
Xhaka was the main topic of discussion during the Arsenal manager’s latest press conference again, after his public falling out with supporters.
Xhaka visibly showed his anger towards the Emirates Stadium crowd last weekend, after he was substituted against Crystal Palace.
The Arsenal captain cupped his ears, as some Gunners fans jeered him off the pitch.
Xhaka is set to miss out on playing in Arsenal’s next match against Wolverhampton Wanderers, as Emery decides what to do next with the midfielder.
But Emery has suggested that he thinks Xhaka’s apology, which which issued yesterday, should be the final word on the matter.
“I want to finish with that. He said sorry,” Emery said. “He gave apologies to the supporters and everybody.
“Now is the focus on tomorrow’s match.”
The Xhaka situation has hardly aided Emery at a time when he is under pressure at Arsenal.
The Gunners’ results have not been positive in recent weeks, with the Spaniard now facing increasingly loud calls for him to be sacked.
If Arsenal are beaten by Wolves tomorrow then he really will start to face huge questions over whether he has taken the club forward during his time in charge.
Arsenal are currently in fifth place in the Premier League table as things stand.
