Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after the Liverpool Echo shed light on some team news ahead of the opening day clash against Norwich.
What’s the story?
Well, due to the sheer amount of internationals in Jürgen Klopp’s squad, Liverpool could be a bit thin on the ground come August 14th.
As the Liverpool Echo explain, Klopp could be without five key players.
They are Jordan Henderson, Thiago, Fabinho, Alisson and Roberto Firmino.
As you’ll know, Henderson is still with England at EURO 2020, and could go all the way to the final with a win over Denmark tonight.
Thiago was knocked out by Italy last night, so he will shortly begin his holidays.
In Alisson, Firmino and Fabinho’s cases, Brazil have reached the Copa America final, so the trio haven’t began their break period either.
Liverpool are keen to give these players three weeks of holiday, once their international commitments have ended.
As a result, Norwich could face a much weaker Liverpool side.
Time for others to step up

All of the aforementioned five players are huge for Liverpool.
However, it’s now time for others to step up.
The likes of Naby Keita and Curtis Jones may have big roles to play against the Canaries, with Fabinho and Thiago missing.
In attack, there’s a huge opportunity for Diogo Jota to make the centre-forward spot his own while Firmino is away.

Failing that, Divock Origi could have a chance to shine.
Liverpool’s fringe players must see this as an opportunity to impress Klopp.
For some, it could save their Liverpool careers.
Let’s see how the Liverpool fans on Twitter reacted to the early team news…
