Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on Antonio Conte as rumours about his future and a move to PSG continue to circulate.

The Italian has been strongly linked with a move to Paris in recent days, and while there may well be some truth to those rumours, according to Romano, these stories are not coming from Antonio Conte’s side.

Indeed, Romano is adamant that Conte or people close to him aren’t the ones leaking this story, suggesting that these rumours are coming from PSG or Tottenham.

What’s been said about Conte?

Romano cleared up what is happening with Conte.

“The first point I want to clarify on this Antonio Conte story is that all of these rumours you are reading around England and France or whatever are not coming from Antonio. It is important to say for Tottenham fans, it is not Conte or people close to him spreading stories about PSG or this type of things. Conte, we know him, we know how he works,” Romano said.

“The focus is on the pitch, on these complicated final games for Tottenham, and then, as he always said, at the end of the season, he will discuss with Levy and Paratici. He is convinced, Champions League or not, to continue with Tottenham they need to have an important summer, meaning important signings, new contracts for important players, there are many things to do.”

Focused

Conte may well be headed to PSG, but it seems as though he’s wholly focused on Spurs at the moment.

The fact that these rumours aren’t coming from Conte’s side is a real positive for Spurs. After all, if their manager was leaking stories about his own future, that would be a real issue.

Of course, this situation is far from ideal, but it could be worse.

It seems as though Conte’s meeting with Levy and Paratici will be key to whatever happens.
