Ferland Mendy has been linked with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, but Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has made it clear that he does not want him to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.
Earlier this week, Sport reported that Real Madrid are willing to sell Ferland Mendy, and that has sparked interest in Arsenal.
The report claimed that last season’s La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners are willing to sell the left-back for €20 million (£17.5 million).
Madrid paid £47 million for the France international defender when they signed him from Lyon in the summer of 2019 (Sky Sports).
Arsenal could be able to sign Real Madrid left-back Ferland Mendy
In our view, Arsenal could be able to sign Ferland Mendy from Real Madrid despite head coach Carlo Ancelotti’s comments.
Yes, the Italian manager may not want to lose the left-back, but the Madrid hierarchy could have other ideas.

The defender himself may not be too keen on staying at the Santiago Bernabeu if he does not get much playing time.
Mendy has had injury problems at Madrid, and Ancelotti has been playing Eduardo Camavinga at left-back.
Camavinga is a midfielder by trade.
We believe that if Arsenal pay what Madrid want for Mendy, then they would be able to bring him to the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window.
