Emmanuel Frimpong has furiously reacted on Twitter to Bernd Leno’s howler for Arsenal in their defeat by Everton at the Emirates Stadium tonight.

Hundreds of Arsenal fans turned up outside the ground to protest Stan Kroenke’s ownership of the club before kickoff and during the game itself.

And the German goalkeeper, a £22 million signing in 2018, will be delighted that the Gunners’ supporters were outside rather than in the stadium following his shocker on 76 minutes.

The former Bayer Leverkusen stopper managed to divert Richarlison’s low cross into his own net, through his legs.

It wasn’t as if the Everton attacker’s cross even had a lot of pace on it, but Leno wound up blundering it into his own net nonetheless.

And here’s how former Arsenal midfielder Frimpong reacted on Twitter:

Arsenal also lost at Goodison Park earlier in the campaign and this is Everton’s first league double over the North Londoners for some 35 years.

More worryingly though, it isn’t Leno’s first mistake of the season. In fact, the Germany international has had quite a few stinkers and those Arsenal fans who felt it was a mistake to sell Emiliano Martinez last summer will be feeling vindicated right now – and so they should.
