‘I understand why Klopp’: Some fans deliver honest take on Liverpool loanee’s display

Southampton fans have lauded Takumi Minamino’s quality but equally made it clear that the Liverpool loanee can be a frustrating player.

The 26-year-old started Southampton’s crushing 2-1 defeat to Brighton on Sunday but was then subbed off in the second half.

On one hand, Saints fans like the quality the Liverpool star brings to the table, but it’s clear that more work needs to be done.

There was constructive and honest criticism from the Saints fans of Minamino’s performance, whilst also praising him for the quality that he shows.

It just seems as though the Liverpool man lacks that consistency from the first half going into the second.

Well, from Liverpool’s perspective, they will say that’s why he is out on-loan to take his game to another level and he is getting some test at St Mary’s.

It was so long ago that Southampton were urging everyone to ‘stop the count’ because they were sitting top of the league, but they have now slipped into a battle for relegation.

Whilst seven points seperate the South Coast side from the drop zone, they just need those extra five or so points just to make sure.

And that’s where a player like Minamino steps into it because during his good moments, he has also managed to find the back of the net.
