Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has praised Granit Xhaka to Football.London.
Arteta has been impressed with how Xhaka has worked hard to earn everyone’s trust and has hailed his commitment.
Xhaka was involved in a big controversy back in October 2019. As reported by Sky Sports, the Switzerland international midfiedler gestured towards the Arsenal fans and swore at them after he was jeered as he was being substituted against Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
Arteta told Football.London about Xhaka: “You probably know better than me what happened and how much it affected both sides when the issue occurred.
“When I arrived I had a really high opinion of him, I knew him really well. I tried to convince him he could have a place here where he could enjoy his career, that his family could be happy here. He’s a player that when he commits he goes 100%.
“He worked really hard, he won everybody’s trust and started to enjoy it. You could see that. When you have those two aspects together that’s when normally players perform at the highest level.”

According to WhoScored, Xhaka has scored one goal and provided two assists in 30 Premier League appearances for Arsenal this season.
The midfielder has also played four times in the Europa League and five times in the FA Cup for the North London outfit this campaign, according to WhoScored.
Important player for Arsenal
Xhaka has been playing well under Arteta, and the Switzerland international has established himself as an important player in the team.
The 27-year-old is a very good player, and given that he is at his peak at the moment, he will play an important role in the Gunners’ quest to finish in the top four of the Premier League table next season.
