Patrick Bamford told UMM’s official YouTube channel that Leeds United manager, Marcelo Bielsa, is an ‘imposing’ figure.

The Leeds hitman stated that when he first signed for Leeds, Bielsa simply ‘patted me on the head and said ‘good luck’.’

Bamford has been one of the success stories during Bielsa’s stewardship, going from a striker that received mixed reactions in the Championship to one that is perhaps now deserving of an England call.

Nonetheless, Bamford was asked whether he is scared of his worldwide popular Leeds boss.

“I wouldn’t say I was scared of him,” said Bamford. “But he’s imposing, isn’t he? He’s got such respect throughout the game.

“When I first signed for Leeds, the first thing he said to me, he just patted me on the head and said ‘good luck’.

“I thought ‘Oh God, like this is a tough school’.”

Leeds and Bamford will now be preparing for their showdown with Liverpool on Monday night.

The last time they met, they played out a thrilling 4-3 showdown in the favour of the Premier League champions.

And given Liverpool’s form, Leeds’ most recent win against Manchester City, if more of the same isn’t served up then it will be a surprise.
