Speaking on the BBC Radio Five Live Football Daily Podcast, Micah Richards has been full of praise for Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette, labelling the Frenchman ‘outstanding’.

Lacazette was at his best over the weekend. He grabbed two assists against Watford, and while he didn’t find the back of the net himself, he still performed brilliantly.

Richards was certainly impressed by Lacazette and he waxed-lyrical about his performance against Watford.

What’s been said?

Richards praised Lacazette when speaking about Arsenal’s striker situation.

“What about that striking situation? I thought Lacazette was outstanding with his two assists, the situation with Aubameyang looked like the right decision in the end, but going forward who do you want to see in that forward position taking you to the next level?” Richards said.

Playing for his future

As Lacazette enters the final few months of his Arsenal contract, it’s no surprise to see his performances improve.

The Frenchman is playing for his future, be that at Arsenal or at another club.

He knows that if he impresses between now and the end of the season, his next contract will have a higher wage attached to it, and who knows? Perhaps even Arsenal will keep him on.

However, the reality is that Lacazette could be leaving soon, and if he continues to play like this, Arsenal will miss having him around.
