Clinton Morrison told Good Morning Transfers on Sky Sports (01/02/21 at 8:05 am) that he thought reported Liverpool target Ben Davies had ‘signed a pre-contract with Celtic’.
It has been a mad 24 hours for Liverpool, who only last week were seemingly going to opt against buying a centre-back.
And now it seems as though a number of players could walk through their doors before Monday’s deadline.
Morrison shared his thoughts on Davies potentially swapping Preston for the champions of England during these coming hours.
“Ben Davies, I think he’s been excellent at Preston, it will be a great move,” said Morrison. “It’s a dream move if it happens.
“I thought he signed a pre-contract with Celtic, so to go to Liverpool is going to be tremendous and working with one of the best managers in Jurgen Klopp.
“So, good luck to him. It’s a dream come true. When someone like Liverpool comes knocking, you cannot turn that down.
“Credit to Preston, I know his contract was running out and he wasn’t going to sign. I wish him well.”

Sky Sports have claimed that Liverpool have agreed on a £1.6 million fee with Preston for their 25-year-old centre-back.
It would be some move for Davies and jump up from a promotion-chasing side in the second-tier to the best team in the land.
But the deal still has to be finalised before he can wear the famous Liverpool shirt.
