Everton right-back Seamus Coleman said on Sky Sports Premier League (7:35pm, February 20, 2021) that Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson made a great save to deny him.
The Toffees got the better of Liverpool 2-0 away from home at Anfield in the Merseyside derby on Saturday evening.
It could have been a bigger win for Carlo Ancelotti’s side had Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson not made a great save to deny Coleman.
The 32-year-old Republic of Ireland international right-back praised the 28-year-old Brazil international and also gave his take on his battle with Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson.
Coleman said on Sky Sports Premier League (7:35pm, February 20, 2021): “I know, I know. I just wanted to get contact on the ball. I thought Alisson made a great save.”
The Everton star added: “I think the last time I had a job like that was at Stamford Bridge following Ashley Cole about the pitch. He’s a great player and I tried to stay with him as much as I could.”

How did Alisson play against Everton?
Alisson made some costly mistakes against Leicester City and Manchester City in the Premier League, but the goalkeeper is starting to get his form back.
The Brazil international did well against RB Leipzig in the Champions League in midweek and kept a clean sheet, and he cannot be blamed for the two goals that the Reds conceded against Everton in the Premier League at the weekend.
The save to deny Coleman in the first half was superb, and Alisson also commanded the defence well and seemed to be very confident and reassuring in front of goal again.
