Patrick Vieira has showered Conor Gallagher with praise after another sensational performance for Crystal Palace, this time against Everton.

Speaking to the Independent, the Eagles manager lauded the England youth international after a Man of the Match display. Gallagher bagged a brace as Palace won their first match since early November.

With fixtures coming thick and thin, it was the perfect time to pick up a win. And Gallagher was key to the result. The on-loan Chelsea midfielder scored two quality goals against Everton at a bouncing Selhurst Park.

Indeed, Palace fans will no doubt be eager for the midfielder to stay with the club beyond this season. And Vieira is seemingly a huge fan of Gallagher, with the Premier League coach full of positive words for the 21-year-old midfielder.

The Frenchman said: “I am not surprised at all and Conor is not the kind of person who will be too busy. He wants to improve. He is really humble, and he is working hard. The challenge for him is to maintain that level to fulfil his expectation.

Vieira added: “Today he was fantastic and I think when the team play at that level as well, it allows him and some of the players in the team to express themselves.”

Palace have to fight tooth and nail to sign Gallagher after Everton display

Gallagher has been one of the breakout stars in the Premier League this season, with the Chelsea midfielder now on six goals and three assists in the top-flight this campaign. And the youngster’s display against Everton must spur Palace on to permanently sign the future England star in 2022.

Indeed, it has been some time since Palace have had a player of this much excitement, and Gallagher could well be the focal point of a new golden generation for the south London side if they can pull off a transfer with Chelsea for one of their best young talents.
