‘I think so’: Bielsa hints Leeds player will be in squad for the first time ever on Monday

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has told Leeds Live that he is delighted that Victor Orta signed Raphinha for him.

Bielsa tends to be very cautious over using Leeds’ signings in his squad.

However, he has been very impressed by how quickly the Brazilian has adapted to Leeds’ methods.

And Bielsa has hinted that Raphinha will be in the Whites’ squad for the first time ever when they take on Wolves on Monday evening.

“I think so,” Bielsa said, when asked if Raphinha would be in the squad.

“It’s difficult to say three days from the game because many things can happen, but if it was today he would be in the group. His adaptation has been very quick, instant. For this, I thank Victor Orta for a player who can adapt very easily to our style of play.”

It seems most likely that Raphinha will be utilised as a substitute for the time being at Leeds.

The Whites have brought in a number of players this summer, but it is only really Robin Koch who has forced his way into becoming a permanent starter already.

Leeds’ wide players have also been in good form this season, with Jack Harrison and Helder Costa both catching the eye.

Raphinha could be a fine weapon to have off the bench though, as Leeds look to continue their encouraging start to the new campaign.
