Arsenal playmaker Martin Odegaard has confirmed to 2Sporten that he will be fit to play at the weekend, despite coming off with injury last night.
Odegaard sparked huge concern among Arsenal supporters when he was taken off after rolling his ankle in Norway’s game last night.
The midfielder appeared to be hurt, and while the injury didn’t appear massively serious, it was obviously a worry.
Thankfully for Arsenal supporters Odegaard has now clarified that although he has suffered a knock, he doesn’t think the problem will be serious.
“I twisted my ankle, but I think I will be fit for the game against Turkey on Saturday,” he said.
Arsenal supporters will be hoping that they avoid any more injury scares over the international break.
Odegaard is really growing into a key player for the Gunners, with his last performance against West Ham United nothing short of sensational.
Arsenal are likely to want to make sure the 22-year-old has fully recovered before he plays for his country again.
The Gunners will surely not want any risks to be taken with his fitness, given that they have a huge game against Liverpool on the horizon, when club football returns in two weekends’ time.
