Paul Merson said on Sky Sports News (2:23pm, February 1, 2021) that Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock would be a good signing for Newcastle United.
According to Sky Sports, Newcastle are interested in signing Willock on loan from Premier League rivals Arsenal on transfer deadline day.
The report has claimed that the Magpies have made an approach to sign the 21-year-old midfielder today.
Former Arsenal star Merson believes that a move to Newcastle would be good for both Willock and the Magpies.
Merson said about Willock on Sky Sports News (2:23pm, February 1, 2021: “If he went to Newcastle, it’s good for him and I think it’s great for Newcastle as well.”
Good move for Joe Willock?
Willock is a very talented and promising young midfielder who has done well when he has turned out for Arsenal.

However, with Emile Smith Rowe playing well and the arrival of Martin Odegaard on loan from Real Madrid, it is going to be hard for Willock to play regularly in the coming weeks and month.
Newcastle are a big club, and if manager Steve Bruce wants him, then it means that he has plans to make use of him.
According to WhoScored, Willock has made two starts and five substitute appearances in the Premier League, and has scored three goals and providing three assists in five Europa League games for Arsenal so far
