Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand has been previewing Manchester United’s game against Tottenham on Wednesday.

The Red Devils face Spurs at Old Trafford in midweek in what could be a crucial game as both clubs chase a place in next season’s Champions League.

Ferdinand hasn’t put his neck on the line and predicted a result here, but he has predicted that this will be a very tight game that doesn’t see too many goals.

Ferdinand’s prediction

The pundit gave his view on how this game will go.

“I think Conte, Spurs, Kane, Richarlison is out injured. The game is there for us to win. I think it will be tight, I don’t think it will be a free scoring game, but there will be stuff for us in there for us to react to. It depends though, will Rashford start? Will Cristiano start? Does he go with the same team? I don’t think there’s much between the teams, but United should be going out and saying they’re winning this game,” Ferdinand said.

Cagey

Ferdinand is predicting a cagey routine here, and we have to agree with him.

Manchester United’s best wins this season have come when they’ve taken a counter-attacking pragmatic approach, and interestingly, that is also when Antonio Conte’s teams play their best football too.

This will be a real clash of styles and one team will have to come out of their shell and try to take the game by the scruff of the neck.

As Ferdinand says, this game could go either way, and it’s almost impossible to call which team will come out on top in this clash.
