Former Aston Villa attacker Gabriel Agbonlahor has given his two cents on recent rumours linking Newcastle United with Wolves captain Conor Coady.
According to the Sun, the Magpies have identified the England international as a potential signing to improve their defence following Newcastle’s Saudi Arabia takeover earlier this month.
On the surface, it seems like a reasonable move. After all, Newcastle are crying out for a new defender, and Coady has been a reliable presence in the Premier League since Wolves’ return to the top-flight.
However, Agbonlahor is keen on the idea of Newcastle signing Coady. With the Villa icon arguing that the Toon need a no-nonsense defender rather than the Wolves captain
Agbonlahor said via Birmingham Live: “Conor Coady is a good player but I don’t think he’s going to improve the Newcastle United defence.
The pundit added: “They need a no-nonsense centre-half who’s going not going to stand for anything, not a Conor Coady. They need to look at better defenders than that.”
Wolves fans hit back at Aston Villa icon Agbonlahor for take Coady comments

As you would expect, Wolves fans on social media were not pleased with these comments from Agbonlahor on their club captain.
