Jamie O’Hara has said on Sky Sports News (6:37pm, May 27, 2021) that Harry Kane is unlikely to stay at Tottenham Hotspur even if Mauricio Pochettino returns.

Sky Sports have reported that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy wants to bring back Pochettino.

The report has claimed that the Paris Saint-Germain manager is in talks with Spurs over a return to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Earlier this month, Sky Sports reported that Kane has told Spurs that he wants to leave to win trophies.

Former Tottenham midfielder O’Hara, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, does not believe that rehiring Pochettino would be enough to convince Kane to stay at the North London club.

O’Hara said on Sky Sports News (6:37pm, May 27, 2021): “Harry Kane wants to win trophies, and at the end of the day, Pochettino was at Tottenham with Harry Kane and they didn’t win trophies.

“So I don’t think it changes his mindset. I think he will still want to go. I think he wants to move on. Pochettino will be desperate to try to keep him because everything Spurs do is around Harry Kane.”

U-turn from Harry Kane?

Kane and Pochettino worked together at Tottenham.

However, as O’Hara points out, the England international striker did not win anything.

Pochettino potentially coming back to Spurs is not going to make the team challengers for the Premier League title instantly.

Perhaps the North London club could go on a cup run and win a cup competition next season, but there is no guarantee about that either.

Manchester City are among the clubs reportedly interested in Kane.

The 27-year-old England international will have more chance of winning the Premier League and the Champions League with City in the coming years.

Kane himself has spoken about his desire to play with City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.
