Jamie Carragher has suggested that Ruben Neves might well thrive at Arsenal.
Well, he didn’t mention the Gunners specifically.
But speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher lauded the Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielders and claimed he could succeed at any Premier League outfit in the division.
Neves went off injured in the 3-2 defeat by Leeds United at Molineux last night.
And here’s what Carragher said about the reported Arsenal target.
He said: “I think Neves could play for any of the top teams in our league. You don’t want to lose a player of that quality from the game so early.”
Neves to Arsenal?
According to Mundo Deportivo, Wolves are looking for around £42 million for the Portugal international.
However, a transfer to Arsenal – or anyone else – is complicated depending on the outcome of his injury.
If it transpires that the Portuguese maestro is absent until beyond the summer transfer window, then obviously the Gunners won’t be taking the plunge and signing him.
According to The Evening Standard last week, Neves is a long-temr target of Arsenal but even still, they’ll want to wait to see how he recovers from injury before signing him.
