Ian Wright spoke in awe on his Wrighty’s House Podcast about Trent Alexander-Arnold and how the Liverpool academy product will ‘never stop getting better’.

The Arsenal legend sat down for an interview with the Liverpool defender at his home and labelled him as a ‘shining light’.

Alexander-Arnold has lived many boyhood dreams over the years from walking out onto that Anfield pitch to winning the Premier League title.

Well, last night, he added another one to his list because he captained his boyhood club in the Champions League.

TV and Radio pundit, Wright, is a clear fan of the attack-minded right-back and stated how he is someone who will just get better and better.

“I swear to God, he is one of those that it’s refreshing, it’s refreshing,” said Wright. “We spoke earlier about professional, learning and what he wants to learn.

“He gives me the impression that he is never going to stop learning. He is never going to stop getting better.

“The link with the fans when he explains what it means to him to watch. It was just a privilege to be around him. Shining light he is.”

Liverpool’s trophies under Jurgen Klopp

  1. Champions League

    2018/19

  2. UEFA Super Cup

    2019

  3. FIFA Club World Cup

    2019

  4. Premier League

    2019/20

Alexander-Arnold has already achieved what many professional footballers dream about achieving in their careers.

The amazing thing about it all is that the 22-year-old is years away from his peak, so if he is able to produce these performances now, he’ll be on a different planet by the time he’s 28.

Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher were one-club men, and it’s something that isn’t the norm in today’s game, but Alexander-Arnold might just join them on that list by the time he finishes.
