Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, Lee Dixon has been discussing Arsenal, Mikel Arteta and a conversation he recently had with Vinai Venkatesham.
Venkatesham is the club’s Chief Executive, so he knows the ins and outs of everything that’s happening at the Emirates, and it seems as though there’s a feeling of harmony behind the scenes.
Indeed, according to Parlour, Venkatesham told him that Mikel Arteta and the club share similar views on a number of key topics in terms of resources, club vision and their relationship together.
What’s been said?
Parlour spoke about Arteta and his chat with Venkatesham.
“I’m relatively guarded about going overboard when they’re doing well, as pros you know what it’s like, but I have been impressed by the same things everyone else has been impressed by. He has been given a real blueprint by the club, I spoke to Vinai the other day about the relationship between him and the club and what the club see and what they can give him and what he demands from the club in terms of resources, and it seems like they’re on the same page, so that’s a good thing,” Dixon said.

Great to hear
For a long time we’ve been hearing about how Arsenal fans need to trust the process under Arteta, and it seems as though the club are fully buying into his ideas.
It would have been easy for doubts to creep in last season. After all, at one point the Gunners were spoken about as relegation candidates, but it seems as though the gaffer has the full backing of the club and the Chief Executive.
Fingers crossed Arteta and Edu continue to be backed and continue to make smart decisions, because Arsenal could be building something special here.
