Brazil reporter Natalie Gedra has spoken about how Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison is an ‘emotional’ character and that he ‘responds’ to managers putting their arm around him.
This comes after Tottenham’s club-record signing fired shots at Antonio Conte for his lack of game time after their Champions League exit to AC Milan, which resulted in the Italian firing back at his player in a war-of-words.
Gedra stated that, before Richarlison’s outburst, she spoke to the reporter that asked the Spurs man the question that led him to make the headlines after that Milan game.

In truth, it all worked out and nor did Conte hold any grudges because he started the 25-year-old during the club’s 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Richarlison thought he had scored inside the first few minutes, only for VAR to harshly rule the goal out for a questionable offside, before he ended up winning a penalty and supplying an assist in a Man of the Match display.
In that sense, everyone is a winner, as Brazil reporter Natalie Gedra shared her thoughts on Richarlison and Antonio Conte, as she told Premier League Productions (13/03/23 at 2:40 pm).
“With Richarlison, you think about the other managers he has worked with,” said Gedra. “Marco Silva (at Watford and Everton). Tite in the national team.
“They both had this personality of an arm around the shoulder. Give me some love! And Richarlison responds to that. He likes that. Conte isn’t that, but he has a way to push him, and with Richarlison, you have an emotional guy.
“I spoke to the reporter who did the interview with him before. He said to me ‘I am going to go the mixed zone and try to speak to Richarlison’. I thought ‘good luck because he’s going to be very emotional’.
“He said ‘I don’t think he’s going to stop’. I said ‘either he’s going to stop and say everything and he’s going to be fuming’. We know that’s Richarlison. You have to know how to use the emotions properly. If you are going to have a go at the manager, the manager is going to play me, then ‘okay, you had a go at me, so you are starting that game and show me what you have got’.
“Then he needs to control these emotions and say ‘now I am going to show you what I got’. It’s not bad that he has these emotions. But he has to manage this.”

PRESSURE IS STILL ON RICHARLISON
Whilst that was a pretty good response from Richarlison and he did his talking on the pitch, it’s still not enough.
From now until the end of the season, he will probably earn more Premier League starts than he did for the first 20-odd games of the season.
This is where he is going to be seriously scrutinised because, if he can’t help Spurs secure a top-four finish, then shots will be fired back at the former Everton man.
