Robert Snodgrass has shared that Liam Cooper tells him about how Marcelo Bielsa gets everyone to ‘believe’ at Leeds, as he compared him to ex-West Ham boss, Manuel Pellegrini.
Speaking to the Lockdown Tactics Podcast, Snodgrass praised Leeds’ togetherness and pointed out how he thinks Bielsa has this special connection with Pablo Hernandez.
Bielsa masterminded one of the great promotions by helping Leeds make a return to the promised land after 16 years during the recently concluded campaign.
Snodgrass shared how Bielsa reminds him of Pellegrini, who was sacked by West Ham last season after struggling to make his mark.
“I speak to Liam Cooper and he says he [Bielsa] is trying to get us to buy into his way and make us believe,” Snodgrass told The Lockdown Tactics.
“He’s so similar to Pellegrini. They have got that sort of South American approach to it. We [at West Ham under Pellergini] used to train like you would not believe.
“He [Bielsa] has kept a lot of those boys. He has promised them the rotation within the squad and everybody will get a certain chance. If boys are doing well he would look after them. You can see the connection he has with Hernandez. He always has his arm around him. He just knows the attention to detail he goes into and the ins and outs of how each player works.”

After years and years of suffering, Leeds fans can now dream because under Bielsa almost anything can happen.
The new Premier League season is around the corner and many will back Leeds, under Bielsa’s stewardship, to be a potential surprise package.
Whilst the Yorkshire outfit need to add to their squad, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Bielsa sticks with 99% of his current players because he has been loyal to them since day one.
