Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has shared what he’s noticed about Aaron Ramsdale and Bernd Leno in Arsenal training.
Seaman is sometimes invited to London Colney to work with the goalkeepers and teach them some of his tips. After all, Seaman is arguably Arsenal’s greatest ever goalie, and he’s shared an observation he’s made about the pair.
Indeed, while Ramsdale and Leno may be battling it out for Arsenal’s number one spot, Seaman says that the pair are actually the best of friends in training.
What’s been said?
Seaman was speaking to Jens Lehmann about the two goalkeepers.
“They seem to have a very good relationship, to me, it was a surprise to see Ramsdale congratulating Leno on the pitch after the Aston Villa game,” Jens Lehmann said.
“I go into Arsenal and I coach the U23 goalkeepers once a week, and I sometimes watch the first-team train and with the goalkeepers there’s a real friendship there, it is hard, there’s no doubt about it. When someone takes your place, you want them to make mistakes, but the friendship they have looks really strong,” Seaman said.

Great to see
While a bit of healthy rivalry is never a bad thing, the last thing you want is in-fighting within a squad.
Ramsdale and Leno probably both feel as though they should be number one, and while Ramsdale is denying Leno his spot at the moment, it seems as though there are no ill-feelings between the pair.
One thing Mikel Arteta wants at Arsenal is a harmonious dressing room, and it looks like his goalkeepers aren’t going to cause him any problems on that front.
