Speaking on BBC Radio Leeds, Leeds United ace Tyler Roberts has shared what he messaged Ben White after he got his England call-up.
The Wales international of course spent time with White last season as the centre-back helped the Whites on their way to promotion from the Championship, and despite the fact White isn’t a United player, there’s a sense that the Whites contributed to him getting to this point.
What’s been said?
Roberts said he was absolutely buzzing when White was given a call-up to the England squad after Trent Alexander-Arnold dropped out with an injury, sharing what he text White after hearing the news.
“Yeah I was buzzing when Ben got the call obviously. I found out in the morning, so before we flew out to Baku I sent him a message just saying how far he’s come, that he deserves it and that I now think he’ll definitely push on.”

Formed in Leeds
White may have only spent one year at Leeds, but the reality is that the basis for this success was formed at Elland Road.
Before he joined the Whites he was being loaned out to the likes of Newport County and Peterborough, but under the tutelage of Marcelo Bielsa he became one of the best centre-halves in the Championship.
He’s pushed on this term with Brighton, earning himself an England call-up, but let’s not forget to give the Yorkshire club massive credit for his development.
