Gary Cahill has stated that he sees Tottenham being in a ‘very good place’ under Antonio Conte, as he told Sky Sports.

The Bournemouth defender worked under Conte when he won the Premier League title and FA Cup when he was at Chelsea.

Therefore, he will know what the Tottenham players are in for during these coming months and how highly-demanding he is going to be on the training field.

That aggression, lack of fear, organisation and high intensity was missing during the now unforgettable spell of Nuno Espirito Santo’s.

One thing is for sure, that will be present, alive and well out on that pitch, as long as Conte is on the touchline.

Nonetheless, this was the honest verdict Cahill provided of Conte and what he can do in North London.

“I remember him kind of weighing everything up in the first few games,” said Cahill. “Then, when he turned into the formation and shape of how he wanted to do things, he really put his stamp on his squad and we went on to be really successful and won the title.

“He is exactly the same as you see in the dugout. He’s very tense. Expects a lot in training. Demands a lot from everyone in the training ground. Very driven.

“Time will that with that (on trophies). But you just have to look at his record. That’s all you have to say. Just look at the teams he’s taken over and what they have gone on and done. I see them being in a very good place in the future under him.

“But the Premier League is very tough, at the moment. You have just seen what’s happened at Newcastle. There is plenty of teams that are going to push on this season and next – he’s a very good appointment for them.”

It has already started off with three points for Conte because, on his debut in the Spurs dugout, they recorded an action-packed and entertaining 3-2 win against Vitesse in the Europa Conference League, which included three red cards.

The next stop is his return to the Premier League and locking horns with an Everton side that conceded five to newly-promoted Watford the last time they played at Goodison Park.

It’s written in the stars for Conte to provide that early bounce and put three points on the board straight away.
