Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after watching Adam Webster outpace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the 1-0 win over Brighton.

The Gabon international is known for his rapid pace, although supporters were shocked to see him brushed off the ball with ease.

Aubameyang had squared the Brighton No.4 up down the left flank, isolating Webster in what essentially became a two-man sprint.

However, the towering Seagulls defender made the former Borussia Dortmund attacker look ordinary.

Such a small incident in the grand scheme of things would perhaps usually go unnoticed, or without comment.

However, perhaps due to the 31-year-old’s struggles right now, it’s become a talking point amongst the fanbase.

Aubameyang has scored just three Premier League goals in 14 appearances this season, with one of those coming from the penalty spot.

Having scored 22 Premier League goals last term, Arsenal’s No.14 has some work to do if he’s to get anywhere close to that tally.

While the fact he couldn’t even get outrun Webster is a concern, we must be fair.

Aubameyang has recently been struggling with a calf injury, so perhaps that’s why he couldn’t get into top gear yesterday.

Let’s see what the Arsenal fans on Twitter have been saying about him and Webster’s surprising footrace…
